What a week! There was an epic field visit. I was slightly annoyed given that a longer visit would have given us more opportunity to see alternative sites and to visit a Peace Corps Volunteer, but these decisions are not always mine to make. In other news, I'm off to Nairobi for a week. I'm very sad to be leaving K, but super happy about being in the land of Pilsner and no Diet Coke shortages...and no fuel shortages...and cheese...and plus it's Nairobi. Yey!
Enjoy Facebook Friday!
- Realizing that I'm having a hard time writing a relaxed wedding speech when I write very formally. It's sort of like when I did forensics in high school, and I would read all of my poetry with a British accent without meaning to. I'm just classy like that.
- I just clicked "like" on my own FB status update. It was so imbued with self-pity that I figured I needed a little pat on the back. In retrospect, chocolate would be more effective.
- If you repeat "Punk ass" over and over again, its remarkably similar to a douchey Club beat. In fact, throw a "Douche" in there every so often to really make Ed Hardy proud. "Punk ass. Punk ass. Punk ass. Punk ass DOUCHE! Punk ass DOUCHE! Punk ass. Punk ass. Punk ass...."
- Kid: "Do you say Twenty-Eleven or Two Thousand and Eleven?" Me: "Usually just Two Thousand Eleven, no 'and'." Kid: "So what are you going to say in 2100? Two Thousand One Hundred???" Me: "I hate to brake it to you, but that's 89 years from now. If I'm saying anything its BOO! or BRAAAINS!"
Have a great weekend!
